Covad Names Aamir Hussain Chief Technology Officer

Industry leader brings expertise deploying next-generation network services partners can use to deliver revenue-generating, value-added offerings

San Jose, Calif. - May 12, 2009 - Covad Communications Company, a leading national provider of voice and data communications, today named Aamir Hussain Chief Technology Officer, effective immediately. Mr. Hussain brings more than 20 years of professional experience and will lead Covad's combined Broadband Technology (BBT) and Network Services team.

Mr. Hussain comes to Covad from Telus, where he served as Vice President, National Planning, Engineering and Capital Management. Prior to Telus, Mr. Hussain held senior-level positions for numerous companies, including Qwest Communications, AT&T, Samsung Telecommunications, and Motorola Inc. At both Telus and QWEST, he led teams in designing and building the companies' next generation data, video and transport networks and seamlessly bulk migrated customers to new networks and solutions.
